New Location, Same Great Margs

Mmmm margarita season is in full swing and luckily my favorite margarita eatery,Cowgirl Seahorse, just opened a second location on the South Street Seaport. Awhile ago I wrote a post detailing my unyielding love for Cowgirl’s margaritas, a love that is luckily shared among my friends!

Happy Hour Margaritas at Cowgirl Seahorse

Last Friday I sounded the sirens and we met at Cowgirl Seahorse to check out the new digs and see if everything we love about the flagship location transferred properly.  The happy hour special of 2 for 1 drinks from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. definitely made the move (making the best margs in town only $4!).  Instead of serving the cocktails with plastic cows in the glass, the aquatic Seahorse theme can be found in plastic mermaids and anchors that accompany their beverages. (Let’s face it, we’re not above toys at the table.) In honor of the World Cup, Seahorse is also serving up $5 chicken taquitos when the games are on, so a delicious Tex-Mex happy hour was easily affordable!

Given that the Seaport and Brooklyn Bridge area has scarce pleasant dining options, the new Cowgirl Seahorse is a much needed safe-haven to escape the bustle and tourists that buzz around that area. My only complaint was that the service was painfully slow, which means patrons should expect a leisurely happy hour or brunch. Fortunately the margaritas provide a good distraction and act as a patience booster!

There goes #15 off the Summer Bucket List.  Holla.

  1. Thanks for taking me to Cowgirl Seahorse! The margs and taquitos (and company) were perfect!
